Aitiip is a multidisciplinary Technology Centre, with several lines of research, development and innovation, and with a staff prepared to provide innovative solutions to the new challenges that arise.
The target of BARBARA project is the development of novel bio-based engineering bioplastic materials to validate in functional prototypes with advanced properties and innovative functionalities (mechanical, thermal resistance and aesthetical optical and texture, well-being: customised fragrance and antimicrobial) manufactured through Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) additive manufacturing technology for two demanding sectors: automotive and building.
The KRAKEN concept was born after the end (November 2015) of the successful MEGAROB FP7 Project, coordinated by AITIIP, in which parts were machined and finished in an area up to 20x6x3 meters, allowing to separate part size and accuracy concepts, paving the way for the production of large parts in a single machine.
