BIOcomposites in smart plastics transformation processes
Duration: 1 December 2022 - 30 May 2026
Partners: CTB, CIDETEC, SPECIFIC POLYMERS, AIM, IRI, SIMCON, PODCOMP, LIMERIC Uni, Polimeris, Asociación Española Normalización. Coordination: Aitiip
The overall objective of the Bio-Uptake project is to ensure a sustainable uptake (increase the use by 39%) of bioplastic composites, by driving a double green and digital transformation in the European manufacturing industry. In particular, the Bio-Uptake solution will focus scientific and technological efforts on the development of flexible manufacturing processes to produce bio-based end products for the construction, medical and packaging sectors, based on the combination of intermediate formats made of natural and/or natural and/or synthetic fibers reinforced with biopolymers, which are easily adaptable to new market demands.
Aitiip will lead the management and demonstration packages of innovative production systems for bio-based materials and products.
