Plastic is a valuable material that increase our quality of life. Plastic help us to increase vegetables shelf life, plastic contains liquids and medicines. Plastics in workers helmets keep them safe. Plastics in portable electronic devices let us access the Internet or communicate with family and friends on the go.
The target of the project is to develop a new technology based on the use of mutated enzymes from the family of the ligninases to carry out the degradation of thermostable composites based on epoxy, polyester and vinyl ester resins in order to resolve their current end-of-life issues.
Today all partners of Bizente project met online for the project´s kick off meeting. They aim to recycle thermostable composites from construction, aviation and automotive sectors amongst others.

A conference entitled “Boosting advanced bio-plastic in the agriculture sector” will take place in Zaragoza (Spain) on May 29th. This conference will present results from the LIFE project Multibiosol , which has developed advanced bio-plastics to be used as mulching and fruit bags in the agricultural sector.
