It was in the framework of the celebration of the Advanced Factories fair, which took place in Barcelona tonight.
Advanced Factories is an international fair on innovation in machine tools, industrial automation and Industry 4.0, which brings together more than 8,000 professionals from 25 countries interested in optimizing production systems and machinery to develop the factories of the future.
As a parallel activity of Advanced Factories, the Factory of the Future Awards give prizes in recognition to the work developed by companies and teams that already lead the revolution 4.0 in the industry. The awards have 4 categories: Best industry in the use of digital technologies for their production, Innovative technology for the Factory of the Future, Best innovation program Industry 4.0 and Best case of talent and development of skills adapted to the advanced factories.
MEGAROB
Megarob, a R & D project coordinated by Aitiip Technological Center, is a new manufacturing system based on state-of-the-art industrial robotics whose precision and large dimensions on which it works make it the only one in the world.
This robot is assembled on a crane through which it moves, encompassing a large workspace of 20x6x5 meters. The operations are controlled by a program, which uses a positioning algorithm programmed in the project environment, and processes the measurements of a laser tracker device at the rate of 1000 6DoF readings per second in real-time.
The manufacturing operations that can perform this system are diverse, such as drilling, milling, grinding, sanding or polishing among others. These operations are performed on large pieces, over 10 meters, another of the specific features of this platform.
This project, funded by the 7th Framework Program of the European Union with more than 4 million euros, was developed during 36 months led by the Aitiip Aeronip Technology Center and with the participation of 7 partners from 4 different countries (Acciona, Grúas GH, Leica Geosystems/ Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and CSEM (Switzerland), Teamnet (Romania) and Espace2001 (Luxembourg).
AITIIP
AITIIP Centro Tecnológico is a private foundation that carries out R & D activities in materials and processes oriented to industry and society and provides advanced technological services in product and process engineering, mold and tool development, 3D printing, transformation processes Of plastics, composite materials and other auxiliary processes of industrialization, with the aim of improving the competitiveness and development of the national and international industrial fabric of all sectors (mainly transport (aeronautics, automotive, railway), infrastructures, packaging and appliances, ...).
